BRISBANE Wine Festival

Merlot, Shiraz, Cab Sav - it's a wine lovers' paradise. It's also the Brisbane Wine Festival, held every year in Brisbane Australia over three days.

It all happens at the Mercure Hotel, in the Grand Chelsea Ballroom. The Mercure is also an excellent option for those out-of-towners looking for Brisbane city accommodation. One of the most recognised hotels in Australia, the Mercure lies in the heart of Brisbane city and is at the centre of all the activity of the Wine Festival.

Of course, there are other options for getting to the festival - Brisbane transport offers excellent services, such as the Brisbane bus and train lines. Otherwise, a Brisbane taxi is another option for ensuring timely arrival to the wine celebrations.

There's a lot more to wine that simply being a tasty drink, and this Brisbane festival certainly shows that. Events range from Master Classes and 'meet the maker' sessions, to judging and awards. And of course, attendees will also have the opportunity to taste over 600 wines (if they have the time!)

The tickets to the festival are at a very affordable $30 per head, with Master Classes having an extra charge of $15 per class. If you can round up a few other wine-loving friends, groups of 10 or more receive a 10% discount on all pre-booked tickets. That might just leave a bit of money left over to take home a little extra wine for yourself!
